Our dear Argentine comrade, Pedro Alonso (Mário), passed away about four days ago. His ashes will be taken, according to his wish, to Venezuela, a country where he helped organize in the 80s, a team of militant defenders of the Trotkista-Marxist ideas of J. Posadas (PORT) to help with the rise of Hugo Chávez’s Bolivarian revolution.
With his militancy in the PORT, and within Peronism as a worker-union activist in the refrigerators of the meat industry, Pedro contributed, to the publications in the Trotskyist paper, VPs (Voz Proletária), that had been created by J. Posadas.
What remains of his recent years, having returned to Argentina, is the living and enduring memory of his enthusiasm and dedication to writing and defending Hugo Chávez’s Bolivarian Revolution – continued by Nicolás Maduro.
Pedro wrote extensively as a well-informed columnist and analyst for the Aporrea website (Venezuela), and we have reproduced his articles on PosadistasHoje.com.br, in the section « Debate of Ideas ».
Pedro, we than you. Today, we thank you for the contribution of ideas and the enormous legacy you left us.
